Competition Guidelines

Forms Of Visual Art

All forms of Visual Arts are acceptable and must include the new Scent. Some of the art forms are Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Photography, Crafts, Graphic Arts, etc.

Incorporate the New Scent

Doctor Aromas will provide the new Scent for use by each student in their artwork. The new Scent must be present and recognizable in each artwork created during the viewing by Judges and during the Competition Exhibition and Reception.

Art Materials

Students will incorporate their own materials for use in their artwork. Doctor Aromas Foundation will provide all students registered in our Visual Arts Scholarship Competition with a bag of different materials on which the scent can be applied and used in their artwork. The use of these materials is optional. However, using the new scent created by Doctor Aromas is required.

Collective Work & Multiple Entries

We do accept collective work, however, the scholarship is allotted per artwork. For winning artwork created by a group of student artists, the award money will be split into equal parts. Multiple entries by the same student or group will not be accepted.

Original Thinking

The art work submitted should demonstrate original thinking, artistic commitment, and a willingness to take creative risks. While it is expected that the student will consult with their teachers, they are urged to submit work they feel best represent their own personal creative interests based on the theme of this competition and considering that is work done outside of class.

Intellectual Property and Copyright Requirements

All submitted art work must be wholly original and may not infringe upon the copyright or other intellectual property or other legal or moral rights of any other person or entity. If the student work has been submitted to other competitions, they are responsible for getting permission to submit the same piece to Doctor Aromas’ competition.
